Whether your home is in an urban, rural or remote area, the natural environment is full of inspiration for student creativity and learning. In part one of this workshop, Musician & Sound Artist Louise Campbell will lead students in exploring and connecting with their natural surroundings through sensory experiences of nature through sound, visual arts and storytelling. Support materials will be provided to guide students and family members on sound walks around your home and through outdoor spaces in close proximity to your home. Part two of the workshop will revolve around sharing students’ experience of the sound walks and creating a collective live radio drama based on this sharing.
Participating homeschool students and their families are invited to visit Louise’s outdoor installation Sources in fall 2022, an album project inspired by the St. Lawrence Seaway. This project is offered in partnership with Innovations in concert.
