Part 2: Monday November 14, 2:30 – 3:45 pm
Have you ever looked at a water molecule under a microscope? There are six sides, just like a snowflake. In this workshop you will: 1) explore the hexagonal pattern in nature, 2) reflect on our relationship to water and the ways we are all connected, 3) learn more about how water molecules can change shape when exposed to information such as music or words. You will design your own individual hexagons with a word of your choosing as inspiration. Extension: Multiple hexagons may be created within one household to culminate in a mural and assembled as a bee hive mosaic and collective art installation.
Materials: scissors, pencil, eraser, sharpener, ruler, pencil crayons (5-10 colours), paper for folding/rough draft (scrap, white loose-leaf or computer paper is fine), drawing paper for final copy of artwork (ideally something rigid, white or light colour paper is best)
*Please cut your paper to a 14 x 14 cm square in advance of the workshop.
