My World on a Postcard – Visual Arts

5 – 8 years old

Part 1: Tuesday November 8, 1 – 2 pm
Part 2: Tuesday November 15, 1 – 2 pm

Students will create a postcard of “their world”. This could be realistic or imaginative (e.g. their bedroom, city, an imaginary place, a world made of everything they love, like a candy world, etc.). I will also encourage students to send their post card to a loved one. Students will use materials they have at home (pencil crayons, markers, any kind of paper, etc.). I will show them basic collage and drawing techniques.

Materials: drawing materials (crayons/markers/crayons…), paper (cardstock/construction paper/blank/lined/collage paper…), scissors, glue (glue stick/liquid glue/clear tape…)
