- Music & Sound in Schools: Listening, Playing & Adapting to Current Times
If I were born in 1113, I would describe myself as an alchemist of music, but since I was born in the 20th century, I usually go by musician.
I have 20 years of experience teaching day-care and primary school children, youth and adults. I have completed a Master in Music Education at McGill University where I investigated the role of body in music creation and learning. I have worked for three school years in a remote community in Nunavik. I facilitate workshops for neurodivergent groups.

Creative Approach and Experiences Offered
Body Music is making sound with what is immediately available to every person: one’s voice and body, creating rhythms, beats and melodies. The activities proceed in an uninterrupted flow that capture students by alternating progressive levels of engagement: inviting them to imitate and explore (call&response, circle singing), experiment (variations) and eventually improvise and create (soloing and being protagonist).
Non verbal communication is favoured as mean of interaction.
A loop pedal is also used to create music, soundscapes and lyrics with the students.
The ultimate goal is to create a connection between students through music––engaging them directly in music through their bodies––while using that connection to create original, authentic music together.
As participants invent, interpret and appreciate musical rhythms created by their own bodies, they bolster their LISTENING SKILLS and their CREATIVITY.
