TAKING IT OUTSIDE: MAKING MUSIC & ART INSPIRED BY NATURE with Louise Campbell

Whether your school is in an urban, rural or remote area, the natural environment is full of inspiration for student creativity and learning. Artist Louise Campbell leads students in exploring and connecting with their natural surroundings through outdoor sound walks on your school grounds, sensory experiences of nature through sound, visual arts and storytelling, and creation of a radio drama based on students’ experience of nature using voices, bodies and found objects. Depending on student interest and curriculum requirements, the final project can take the form of an improvised soundscape, a perform-able radio drama or a recorded podcast.

Participating schools have the option to host Louise’s outdoor installation Sources, featuring music inspired by the St. Lawrence Seaway. Please contact Louise for more information.
