PAPER PEOPLE PUPPETS with Maggie Winston
Students will understand the basics of puppet manipulation through playing with paper as a material that
moves. We create quickly made human figures using just crushed paper and tape. Drawing from the traditional
Bunraku Theatre of Japan, students work closely in teams of 3 to manipulate each part of the puppet. As the
team moves and breathes together, the puppet comes to life!
