EXPLORATIONS IN SHADOW PUPPETRY with Daniel Hickie

Shadows. Light. Magic. And Storytelling. In this workshop, students will be introduced to concepts of shadow puppetry. Students will create their own shadow puppets from simple materials, learn to bring those puppets to life and, in small groups, create short shadow puppetry performances.

Themes: The workshop has some clear elements of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts obviously…, and Mathematics)

Materials: Construction paper, scissors, wooden skewers

Grade Levels: Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
