AUTHENTIC CREATION THEATRE AND WRITING WORKSHOPS with Felix Robitaille

I propose a series of exercises drawing on theatrical and creative writing techniques that strengthen students’ body-mind connection; validating their self-worth, creativity, and innate knowledge, in order for them to express themselves authentically, opening space for creation and discussion.

Students are prepared through exercises like animal play, slow races, and freewriting, to create short performances responding to and examining the stories they know. They are invited to use these creative skills to change the narrative, encouraging them to act and speak authentically in their daily lives.

Workshops can be tailored to address or respond to a specific topic, school work or specific media, as well as topics related to equity, diversity and inclusion. Students will develop their intellectual, personal and social, and communication-related competencies.

Materials: Pencil, paper, open space for movement

Grade Levels: Elementary cycle 2, 3, Secondary Grades 7-11
