They began a career as a comic artist, self-publishing a first graphic novel, Nuances, about important social issues, in 2015. They continue to promote well-being for the benefit of society through works such as Homeward, and Zen & the Ephemeral, while teaching art and well-being through workshops and panels.
Creative Approach and Experiences Offered
I have been working as an art educator since 2007, as a teacher since 2012, and as an artist since 2015.Workshops are accessible & adaptable.
BEGINNER COMICS
Students create an 8 page zine (mini comic) from one piece of paper. They will fill those pages by telling a story using drawings and/or words. In the process, they learn about good storytelling, clear communication, and discover what it's like to live life as a professional comic artist.
ADVANCED COMICS
Students create an 8 page zine (mini comic) from one piece of paper. They will fill those pages by telling a story using drawings and/or words. In the process, they will explore different facets of wellness (physical and mental health, community and relationships, environment, etc), learn some comic-specific visual language that will help them have clear communication, and discover what it's like to have a career as a professional comic artist.
