SHINE DANCING with Paola Sterling
SHINE DANCING is a workshop that fosters the development of gross motor skills, self-confidence, and independence, among other things, in children aged 3 to 8 through movement, musicality, play, and creative expression. Sessions include:
• A mindful welcome.
• Body awareness and body expression games.
• Dance explorations throughout the space using stories and a variety of props.
• A relaxation period to allow for integration of learning.
Inspired by creative dance, mindfulness, and movement education, my approach invites each child to explore, imagine, create, and move in an atmosphere of trust, respect, and joy.
Materials: Provided by the Artist: colored ribbons, small colored scarves, tambourines, hula hoops, speaker and music player. Provided by the school: colors (or crayons) and sheets of recycled paper, board and markers to explain some concepts or ideas.
