Creative Approach and Experiences Offered

I enjoy helping students create a choreography from their own stories and personal inspirations.
I am interested in including a writing element to my workshops, or a brainstorming session if participants are too young to write extensively on their own.
We discuss ideas that might be personal or universal that affect us and our individual selves, like the story of our grandparents, or our family tree, our cultural background, etc.
Students are encouraged to write/journal about a personal story to then put it into movement via key words and a sequence of gestures.
Movement phrases are shared either in solo format or shared to be learned to create a larger collective choreography that we can share at the end of our workshop together.
As an immigrant myself, I am interested in sharing stories about where we come from and where we are today. Whether we ourselves have moved, our family members, or where we come from in our lineage (see root of the word Line as a physical inspiration).
