Originally from Greece, Anna holds a BA (Honours) in Contemporary Dance and has moved to Montreal since February 2023. During university, Anna found her passion for circus when she started training as a contortionist. She enjoys sharing her experience and believes that art is an essential part of life while movement is a vital aspect of our wellbeing. Through her teaching, she offers students the tools to discover new abilities, develop new skills, while staying present through movement.

Creative Approach and Experiences Offered

This engaging and interactive workshop invites students to explore the world of circus arts, with a focus on the discipline of contortion. Participants will be introduced to the history and circus scene in Quebec through a brief presentation and group activity. I will share insights about my personal background offering a glimpse into my journey as a circus artist. Following the presentation, there will be an open Q&A session providing students the opportunity to express their curiosity. The physical portion of the workshop begins with a warm-up to prepare the body safely for movement. Students will then be guided through beginner-level contortion and acrobatic skills such as splits, bridges, cartwheels, and handstands prioritizing safety. I strongly believe that by exploring our physical capabilities, we can deepen our connection with our bodies, strengthen our relationships with others, build confidence, embrace playfulness and nurture a sense of curiosity and joy.
