LET’S MAKE A ZINE! with Sandra Dumais
In this workshop, the kids will learn how to make and fold a zine out of a regular 8.5 x 11 piece of paper. With only 8 pages to tell our story, what will we choose to include? What makes a good story? I am convinced that the best stories happen constantly around us.
Each page in a zine must work to propel the story forward, or pack a visual punch. With older students, we might make zines out of causes that are important to us—an introduction into activism and art! For younger students, I will prepare the folds and we might tell a story with only 8 words. Very versatile workshop.
