    • The Artist fee for $1500 School grant and One Day Event for a total value of $3000 will typically include the following:
      • at least one planning conversation between the Artist and the school
      • a total of about 6 to 10 hours of live (or virtual) workshop sessions for a minimum of 2 classes – please note that this is flexible and will be determined by the Artist in the school at the planning stage
      • any required follow-up documents provided by the Artist
      • a One Day Event appropriate to the artist’s discipline. In the case of performance-based events, Artists are required to provide a minimum of 2 X 45-minute performances with 15-minute Artist talks
      • In total, plan for 6 to 10 hours of live workshop sessions over at least 2 days, and, with an optional add-on of a One Day event, a total of at least 3 days of creative experiences.
    • Materials expenses – up to $300 including taxes from the $1500 School Grant, and up to another $300 including taxes for the One Day Event add-on. Please note that should the materials be purchased by the Artist using a portion of the grant, the number of workshops with students will likely decrease slightly.
    • Please note that there is no longer funding available for travel, overnight stays or food. This is a necessary change to ensure we are respecting the program guidelines set by our funder in order to prioritize awarding microgrants for as many schools
as possible. We understand the possible frustrations around this decision and the team is available to help you with your project logistics to make sure you’re still able to have a fruitful school year. We acknowledge that due to this, your project details may need to evolve, and we encourage you to speak with the visiting artists about what is possible. More information can be found in the Guide for Artist Fees & Expenses (PDF).
