Thanks to Louise Campbell and the Artists Inspire grant the students at Saint John Fisher learned how to apply different technologies to improvisation, leading to inspired music making. Louise led the Grade 6 Band in four full days of improvisation workshops, culminating in a recording/video production. The video will be uploaded to Deep Music – the SJFSr Music Department’s YouTube channel once it has been edited. To support the music program and see these and other wonderful future projects, Saint John Fischer invites you to subscribe to their YouTube channel or follow them on Facebook.
Louise Campbell leads music, sound, and multidisciplinary arts from early childhood education through to high school. She is a teaching artist, who uses the arts to encourage students’ sense of wonder, understanding of themselves and their experiences, and engagement in the world.
Saint John Fisher Elementary School’s ArtistsInspire Grant experience was made possible by an ELAN Quebec/LEARN partnership for students from Quebec’s English-speaking communities to participate in arts and culture experiences, thanks in part to funding from Heritage Canada through the Government of Canada.
