For over 20 years I have facilitated people at various stages of life to express themselves through painting and drawing. As an artist, I explore the many facets of selfhood in relation to one's community, to society and to the natural world. I create murals and other collaborative projects with artists and non-artists.
Creative Approach and Experiences Offered
Drawing and painting are learnable skills that foster visual literacy and creative problem solving. My workshops are tailored for all ages and abililties, for individual, collaborative projects and murals. I would love to hear from you - let's collaborate! Here are some workshop suggestions:
Portraits/ Self Portraits - Explore many facets of selfhood and community:
- What is my "superpower"? My classmate's "superpower"?
- What is my "spirit animal"? Empathy with nature.
- Inner/Outer Self Portrait. Using colour to express emotions.
Connect to sense of touch and the environment through drawing and receive a much needed break from “left brain” / screen time activities.
- slow down and and explore shapes, patterns and textures of leaves, flowers, insects.
- explore shape and colour through a fantastical interpretation of "planets and stars''.
- continue with colour, texture, create large scale drawings or collaborative mural.
