I am a painter who also works in sculpture, printmaking and installation. I have experience teaching people of all ages and have found that teaching abstraction is a wonderful way to encourage open mindedness, self-acceptance and exploration, all while learning about visual art concepts and ideas. The needs of teachers and students are important to me, and I am happy to accommodate both.

Creative Approach and Experiences Offered

My workshops are designed to encourage imagination, confidence, and creative thinking through the exploration of colour, shapes, composition, mask-making, and sculpture installation.

Workshops / Projects include:

Painting : Learn about colour, composition and different mark making strategies to convey light, space, mood and unique self-expression. Playful improvisational exercises and group discussion.

Drawing : We practice improvisation, mark-making strategies, composition and play.

Introduction to Sculpture Installation: Working with recycled/upcycled materials, paper, cardboard and paint (or the objects in a classroom), we can work collaboratively to create an installation that gets people thinking about space and the meaningful arrangement of parts.

Mask Making: This can be done using papier-mâché, paper, cardboard and/or found objects.

Monotype printmaking: Learn do-it-yourself printmaking techniques. This can be combined with a zine making workshop.
