I am an illustrator, writer, animator, and musician based in Montreal, with a particular interest in animals, monsters, and the fantastic. I studied with a BFA in Film Animation at Concordia University, and have always had a deep interest in telling stories, and exploring and developing the characters and worlds within them. In my experience hosting workshops I always find it is best to learn the interests of each individual participant and allow them to explore that through the workshop.

Creative Approach and Experiences Offered

I have mostly run workshops in animation and filmmaking, so I have a lot of experience facilitating workshops where students have worked collaboratively, as well as supporting students with individual projects and for teaching more specialized skills.

A) I usually start my workshops by giving a small presentation to introduce the students to the topic/artform at hand, using reference materials such as from books, films, and examples of my own work.
B) I then usually give the students a chance to talk about their interests that relate to the workshop; favourite films, shows, comics, .etc.
C) I then have the students materials and have them come up with a very short work to brainstorm, and it gives me a chance to assess their skills and personalities a bit better.
D) The students then present what they have made.
E) After this there is a group exercise where the students are paired up and given prompts to create a work, which they then present to the class afterwards.
