PORTRAITX – THE FULL PACKAGE with Raison d’art
portraitX is an innovative youth-driven classroom program with an app on iPads that propels art and digital media to educate students on how to build healthy relationships online and off. Our program features interactive workshops, an inclusive curriculum, unique collaborative creation tools, and more! Our trained artists/moderators use art and digital media to disrupt gender-based stereotypes and attitudes that can lead to violence while teaching adolescents how to navigate the emotions that arise within relationships. Our leave-behind is a large-scale collective mosaic of student-sourced art and curated impactful student artworks are shared on social networks for positive social impact!
Themes: The workshop provides an opportunity for discussion about belonging in Quebec as a member of the BIPOC community and as a member of the LGBTQ2S+ community. The workshop has some clear elements of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts obviously…, and Mathematics)
Materials: Provided: use of portraitX app on iPads: one for each participating student, a collective mural installed on the school walls: a large scale mosaic of media created by participating students.
