FIGURATIVE ABSTRACT PAINTING WORKSHOP with Venus Lukic
A painting workshop to learn more about how I create my abstract figurative paintings and sharing my technique with students. In a one day workshop I can offer a live painting session that is interactive with students. In shorter workshops spread over two days I can work more closely with the students on their individual pieces. My main focus will be to teach students how to slow down and spend more time looking at their work of art during the creation of it, focusing mainly on the process of painting without worrying too far in advance about the final product. Some of the workshop time will be devoted to working with others to decide how to proceed with a painting. In my workshops I will be working with acrylic paint, brushes and canvas. I’m excited to share my painting technique with students in higher grades who can really delve into the practice of painting as a rewarding experience that can also be used as a meditative practice.
Themes: The workshop has some clear elements of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts obviously…, and Mathematics)
Materials: Acrylic paint, brushes, canvas or canvas board, water, ‘shop’ towel
