DISCRIMINATION AND SOCIAL MEDIA with Natasha Doyon

What are you creating, sharing, and consuming on social media? Using drawing, writing exercises and various interactive resources the students will create an artwork that develops critical thinking about the way they use social media and its impact on themselves and others. The students will have an opportunity to use art to reflect and create works based on their experiences to understand the impact of discriminatory speech and how they can transform it.

Themes:

The workshop provides an opportunity for discussion about belonging in Quebec as a member of the BIPOC and/or LGBTQ2S+ communities.

Materials: pencils, paper, scissors, phones an asset (but not necessary), coloured pencils.

Grade Levels: Elementary Cycle 3, Secondary Grades 7-11
