CREATING MUSICAL STORIES with Matthew Bennett Young

The best way to describe this workshop is as a ”translation of the senses.” Music (7 instrumental recordings) is
used to stimulate feeling. Those feelings are articulated using words, expressions, associations, or memories.
The children are shown how to use those articulations to create a basic story outline which they can then
develop. The workshop has a very simple structure but great significance and impact. Children are encouraged to make connections in constructive ways and end up with unique stories that they have created. It is an empowering experience!
