World Adventure Stories – Visual Art

Ages: Ages: 5 – 9 (K – Grade 3)

Description: Using collage and drawing techniques, students will create their own cut-out characters and scenes to tell stories about travelling the world.

Materials: glue stick, collage images and paper, scissors, markers

this workshop, participants begin by drawing a single line with their eyes closed. This will develop into an image by applying elements of line, colour and pattern as well as shading techniques, such as, hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, pointillism, and more. As they create, participants also learn and practice breathing, relaxation and meditation techniques to foster self-awareness.

Materials: Sheets of blank white computer paper or similar, different coloured markers or pencil crayons, black markers or pens of different sizes (thin, medium, thick)
