Description: In Roger Sinha‘s contemporary dance technique class participants will develop a greater sense of precision and rhythm by working with the detailed movements of the fingers and hands found in Indian dance. This will be combined with contemporary technique, which focuses on movements of the torso, hips, as well as leg extensions, leaps, and spins. The Indian technique focuses on the mudras (precise gestures with the fingers and hands). Participants will be guided through choreographic phrases and techniques that will allow them to create their own movements. Elements of Bollywood will also be incorporated.
Materials: Enough space for each participant to be able to spread his/her arms out and lie on the floor.
