9 – 14+
Part 1: Tuesday April 26, 2:30 – 3:45 pm
Part 2: Tuesday May 3, 2:30 – 3:45 pm
Participants will have the chance to explore why superhero stories are so powerful and fascinating. They will have the opportunity to create their own superhero and share their origin story. During Part 1, they will find a superhero that they love or admire and identify their origin story. We will use images to display a few examples. Participants will elaborate on their origin story by identifying how their character got their powers. For example, was it by accident? Genetic or evolution? Chosen or mutation, augmented or modified? They will also craft their superheroes’ regular everyday civilian identity and their superhero character. During Part 2, participants will use the shared prompts such as “I Am” “I Feel” “I Wonder” or “I Wish”, and expand on their chosen or created superheroes stories using these prompts of what they believe their “Hero” may be thinking or feeling.
