Let’s Make Faces! – Visual Arts

5 – 8 years old
Part 1: Tuesday February 8, 1 – 2 pm
Part 2: Tuesday February 15, 1 – 2 pm

Let’s learn how to draw different emotions in a simple comic style! Using our own faces, we’ll “try on” different emotions and observe what our faces look like. Where are the lines? What happens to our eyebrows? Our chins? Faces are beautiful, complex maps to how a person is feeling, and when we learn how to draw emotions, we also learn how to better understand them. In the second workshop, we will learn how to record our emotions in a 4 panel comic journal!

Materials: sharpened pencil, eraser, paper (a few sheets or a notebook), coloured pencils or markers, ruler (small or big), mirror (if possible)
