5 – 8 years old
Part 1: Thursday February 10, 1 – 2 pm
Part 2: Thursday February 17, 1 – 2 pm

During Part 1, the author of the children’s book, Maybe Colours, will read the book aloud to the participants, who will discuss the literary elements presented (alliteration, repetition/simile, metaphor) in an age-appropriate way. Participants will then discuss different types of stories that exist and the author will lead a discussion to help participants decide on the kind of book they would like to produce with colour as the theme. Between sessions, participants will receive their complimentary copy of the e-book Maybe Colours and using the book as inspiration, they will create their own book about colour. During Part 2, participants will discuss and share their work and the author will discuss the sequel to the book.
Materials: a minimum of 10 sheets of blank paper (more if possible), stapler, lots of coloured pencils/crayons/pens
