Eastern Townships native Roy MacLaren plays traditional music on the highland bagpipes, tenor banjo and tin whistle. An experienced performer and educator, he believes a good tune makes its own friends whether it comes from Quebec, Scotland, Ireland or elsewhere. When not performing with his band the Narrows, Roy is a licensed carpenter and teaches part time in the wood shop at a high school in the Eastern Townships.

Creative Approach and Experiences Offered

I offer an introduction to traditional music workshop that exposes students to Celtic and Quebec dance music.

I also teach woodworking courses than can be tailored to the age group and skill level of the students.
