I am a visual artist from the Chateauguay Valley in the Montérégie. I have experience both leading general art workshops and working with teachers to create specific projects adapted to their class curriculum. Since 2003 I have run an after school art programme at Howick Elementary. My own art practice includes painted paper collage, painting, drawing, print making, and most recently installation projects. My work focuses on themes related to agriculture, biodiversity, and nature.

Creative Approach and Experiences Offered

My approach is to develop projects that are structured, but still have room for problem solving and creative ‘what-ifs?’. I am familiar with a wide range of art-making techniques and materials. Teachers have jokingly called me the Art Room MacGyver for my ability to fashion a classroom art project out of an unlikely collection of junk. Got a box of old picture frames, some plastic forks, curtain rings, and a glue gun? Well, that’s an assemblage. Trying to figure out what to do with egg cartons, donated plywood, scrap paper, and plasticine? How about relief sculptures? I try to be resourceful and flexible and to use what materials are at hand. I can come up with a project or we can create something specifically tailored to the needs of your class. We might make found-object sculptures, papier mâché masks, do an introduction to life drawing, create a large landscape painting, make collage self- portraits, or create a wall installation. What would you like to make?
